Remember the last time you were at your favorite coffee stand? Do you recall those few minutes when time seems to stand still in between your order and when your steaming coffee is handed to you. My mind always seems to wander and day dream for those precious minutes until today….

A tall beautiful brunette woman caught my attention as she walked in front of my car to where her vehicle was parked. It wasn’t her thick curly hair or her well color coordinated suit that caught my attention…. Unfortunately, it was her poor posture accompanied by her unsure footing as she crossed the parking lot. You see, she was wearing 6 inch (platform) open toe stiletto heels paired with her conservative grey wool suit.   I felt her pain as she was struggling to keep the pace with her male co-workers who were astutely aware of this woman’s shoe dilemma.

I love a great Stiletto - Stilettos give the optical illusion of a longer, slimmer leg, a smaller foot, and a greater overall height, however, in the business world where professional sophistication is a key to executive success, a mid heel height would be the wiser choice.

Tip: When wearing a boot cut or straight leg pant – the most flattering hemline is ½ inch to 1 inch maximum above the floor.

Modern Professional Dress Code: Mid-heel, closed toe. The acceptable heel height for work ranges between 2 3/4″ and 3 3/4″. Heel height of 4″ or higher is not an acceptable heel height for working in a conservative/competitive professional setting.

The first place to start is with a consulting appointment to find out about your unique DRES profile.
