Are you a slave to high heels?

I recently stopped by a local Nordstrom for some make-up and was struck by something really frightening. The heels on most of the shoes went from really high to stilts! You know what I am talking about. Most were at least 4-5 inches and the wedges were higher.

Women like heels. They make you taller, your posture improves, makes you more appealing to the opposite sex and a host of other reasons. Most of us have many pairs of shoes. I am fine with all that but it seems to me we have ventured into the ridiculous territory with these insane heel heights.

These heels do damage. Your feet hurt, swell, become deformed over time, etc. What is making shoe designers go to these heights? I would love o hear from you. Why is 2-3 inches not enough anymore? Who but women would put up with this kind of discomfort and sheer agony?
